About Dave

Helping You Move from Surviving to Thriving

My name is Dave Dolan. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, recovery-informed coach, and facilitator of transformative experiences rooted in psychology, somatic awareness, and spiritual depth.

For many years, my work centered primarily on psychotherapy. Today, my practice has evolved into something broader: a holistic ecosystem that supports mental health, recovery, embodied regulation, and meaningful life transformation.

At the heart of it all is one guiding belief:

Healing isn’t just about symptom reduction.
It’s about integration, resilience, and aligned living.

My Professional Foundation

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) with advanced training in:

  • Psychodynamic therapy

  • EMDR

  • Trauma-informed care

  • Addiction and recovery counseling

  • Mindfulness-based interventions

I have spent years working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, life transitions, and relational challenges.

This clinical foundation remains central to my work. It ensures that everything I offer — whether therapy, coaching, or group experiences — is grounded, ethical, and psychologically informed.

Beyond Traditional Therapy

Over time, I saw something important:

Many people don’t just need therapy.

They need community.
They need embodiment.
They need integration.

That realization led me to expand into:

  • Somatic breathwork and nervous system regulation

  • Recovery-centered community work

  • Coaching for life direction and personal growth

  • Workshops and retreats

This expansion became Bodhi Circle — a space where psychology, recovery, and embodied practice meet.

Recovery & Personal Practice

My work is deeply informed by years of immersion in 12-step recovery communities and lived experience with transformational processes.

In addition to my clinical training, I have completed over 500 hours of Kundalini yoga teacher training, strengthening my understanding of breath, nervous system regulation, meditative states, and embodied awareness. I am also a master-level Reiki practitioner and completed a two-year apprenticeship in shamanic practice.

These disciplines are not separate from my professional work — they inform how I understand integration, resilience, and the movement from survival patterns into conscious living.

While my clinical work remains grounded in evidence-based care, I honor the reality that healing is both psychological and existential.

People are not just minds.
They are nervous systems, bodies, stories, and spirit.

What Guides My Work

I believe in:

  • Radical honesty with compassion

  • Nervous system literacy

  • Accountability without shame

  • Community as medicine

  • Growth that is grounded, not performative

Whether we are working one-on-one or in a group setting, the intention is the same:

To help you move from survival patterns into clarity, strength, and aligned action.

The Direction of Bodhi

Bodhi is evolving.

What began as a psychotherapy practice has grown into a broader community container that includes:

  • Clinical psychotherapy

  • Coaching

  • Somatic breathwork

  • Recovery integration

  • Workshops and retreats

Each offering exists to support people in building stable inner foundations while living with courage and purpose.
